Summer Registration Information
Summer registration begins for extended campus students and seniors (98+ completed semester hours) on April 29th and 30th. All other students will be able to register beginning May 1st. No seats in courses will be held. No forms will be accepted early. Student or student representative must bring their signed SUMMER 2013 MAIN CAMPUS APPROVAL FORM to room 210 on the 2nd floor of Kivett Hall during the student’s respective registration dates. The office will open at 8:30am and will close at 5:00pm during the first week of registration .
Summer terms dates are May 20th through July 13th. Distance Education summer term is an 8 week term with only one session. The last day to add after registration is May 22nd at noon. The last day to drop without a grade is May 28th.
Spring II Add Period Has Ended
The Spring II Add Period ended today at noon. Make sure you have your books so you start Week 1 on the right foot!

Scanning Documents
from your Smartphone
Part of what makes online learning great is that you can upload assignments from your Android, iPhone, or Blackberry smartphone. All three of these devices have FREE scanning applications that you can download to your specific device and these applications will allow you to scan them and upload them to Blackboard or send through your email account. Below I will outline applications for each type of the 3 main smartphone platforms and each of these applications allow users to scan from their phone.
Android:
Handy Scanner Free-this application features multi-page scanning and sharing to Dropbox!, GMail, or other email servers. This app will produce both PDF and JPEG files.
Scan to PDF Free-allows you to scan documents using your phone’s camera and photos can be stored to SD cards and uploaded to Google docs. Paid version is only $1.90.
Mobile Doc Scanner Lite-allows users to transform documents into PDF format and share from your device. Allows users to scan any type of document including receipts and text pages. This application is ranked Top 10 Free Business Application in 5 countries.
iPhone:
Genius Scan-turns your iPhone/iPad into a pocket scanner and allows you to quickly scan and upload documents in PDF or JPEG format.
CamScanner Free-scans multi-page documents, auto crops, and allows for upload to cloud storage. This is the most downloaded scanning app for smartphones worldwide.
Blackberry:
Scan to PDF Free-takes pictures with your phone and allows for editing and exporting them in PDF format or sending them through email.
PDF Creator Ultimate Free-also takes pictures and turns them into documents to send or export to email, Dropbox!, or PDF files.
I hope these few applications give you some options for scanning documents whether you’re a student or an instructor. I believe that these applications are not only useful for higher education settings, but also for everyday life. Just last week I used one of these apps to scan a document and send it to the office that it needed to go to. Check them out and let me know what you think!
